In my self-portrait, I explore my identity as Maria, as a Pisces, and a child of Yahweh. I layered underwater teal to evoke the original concept of performing this piece in a pool, embodying myself confronting the Leviathan. Due to the change in weather, I shifted to a more grounded, earthbound setting.

The white veil I wear represents both purity and imperfection, serving as protection and revelation. It embodies the duality we all carry—I am lifting the veil. The black painted across my palm symbolizes the unseen: the mysteries we cannot grasp with the natural eye. As Romans 1:19-20 says, “The invisible can be clearly seen by the things that are made.”

The marks on my face, which never left a scar but caused deep pain, together with the veil and the black on my palm, reflect an alchemy of acceptance—the merging of matter and spirit.

😮‍💨Last year? My circle was small… but not in a sacred way. It was small in a “damn, do y’all even rock with me?” kind of way.
Barely showed up.
Missed my birthday.
No support. No effort.
And I’ll be real—that hurt.

But this year? A whole transformation.
My man supports me like never before—over $1500/month because he sees my worth.
My friends? They pulled up for every event, celebrated me, turned up with me, blessed me with gifts.
New people came into my life and showed love like they knew me for years.
Connections? Flowing.
Money? Flowing.
Peace? Overflowing.

And the biggest shift?
ME.
I stopped begging for bare minimum energy. I changed my frequency, set my expectations, enforced my boundaries, and moved like the woman I am.
